Today's Gifts From God

  1. Talked to my friend Anna for a couple of minutes tonight. It was nice to talk to her, even if it was only for a couple of minutes. I love all my friends so much.
  2. Had a nice lunch at "Pierre Victorie Bistrot." I had my usual steak-frites with poivre sauce(well done) and a goat cheese and bacon omellete for starter. and a coke for drink and bread with butter(complimentary). the goat cheese and bacon omellete was so so good....and I do not even like bacon!
  3. Finished my portion for my panel presentation(along with 5 others) tomorrow for Christianiaty in Culture! all that I have left to do for this semester to be offical done: one 500 word response on my service hours, 1 final exam, and one 5 page reflection due may 16(I think)on my study abroad experience. and then...scotland for 3 1/2 weeks and then...Nottingham for World Wide Witness! cannot wait!!!
  4. Had a good shower this morning...it was such a nice temperature, warm with a little sting in it, just the way I like it! :)
  5. Got a reply from Friends International in Edinburgh about a cafe for international students. kind of like globe cafe in St. Andrew's church in Oxford. it is mondays from 8-10pm. they even have a discussion about a major life question and what the bible tells us about it. it is an optional part of the cafe, but I think it is so cool. I am going to go.
  6. found that edinburgh has a museum of childhood. I send an application to volunteer there, but I problaly wont get it because of the background check that would take awhile. still, it is cool and I will go. I think Edinburgh is going to be a cool city. I am looking forward to it.

April 26,2009 Gifts

  1. Got my INTS 240.S1 final paper on "who is your neighbor" finished!!! it is not good at all, but it is finished!!!
  2. watched the movie "Sabrina"(the version with Harrison ford in it). not as good as the play, sadly. actually, the movie was a little creepy in the sense that the guy she ends up with is at least 15 years older than she is.
  3. booked tickets to go see the Lion King again, hey, I am going to London anyway for my rescheduled St.Paul's and Tower of London Tour, and also, I REALLY loved it!! I want to go see it again so badly. since I know the train situation this time, I can 100% relax and enjoy it. guys, seriously, it is out of the world...words dont do it justice. actually, I can show you! the following is a youtube clip from the 2008 tony awards. it was the 10th anniversary of the lion king musical and the way they commorated that was that the opener of the show was the performance of the musical's opening scene(circle of life). the show itself is amazing but this will give you a small taste: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yPAo389cQ4U
  4. I had a really good dinner at the restaurant nearby(chez gaston).
  5. during our 9@9, we did communion by someone the bread and "wine" to someone and prayed for them and then they would take it to someone else...needless to say it was nerveracking for me, especially since i had never prayed for someone else with them(you know what I mean?). anyway, I did and it was so good for me to do that. I did the hardest step(or was kinda forced to): the first step. so now, I might be able to do it again. might...maybe....still, a good thing for me.
