  4. I bought a book today about this guy who's a Harry Potter fan and he went around Great Britain(he's from here and loves it) finding places that could have been the inspiration for different things and places in the books. so neat! plus it's a signed copy :)

God's Gifts To Me Today

  1. Booked the first week of my Hostel in Scotland. I will stay in the house until May 9, and then May 9 stay overnight in a Hostel here in Oxford(which is already booked), then from May 10-June 2, Edinburgh Scotland!!!!
  2. As I was going to buy my dinner(take-out chinese: sweet and sour chicken balls with fried rice and two pepsi cans with pepsi inside) there was the sweetest cool breeze. it lasted only for a second or two, but it was so sweet. it felt so refreshing.
  3. I got an emailed just now saying that I got chosen to be a member of the campus crew for welcome week. I know that people that apply for this get chosen for it, but I am so excited.I was rejected from group mentor and peer leader, so it is nice to have a way to be involved with welcome week. last year, I really did only want to move in early, but I am moving into UP early anyway($17 a week for 9 days)so this year I really do want to involved. setting up for candlelight devo, activities, serving meals, moving in...so excited!
  4. Did my laundry today!! I have clean clothes!!! lol... :)
  5. I am at the moment watching ever after with: Payton, Ashley, Emily, Jessica, and Kelsi. fun!!

Today's Gifts From God

  1. Talked to my friend Anna for a couple of minutes tonight. It was nice to talk to her, even if it was only for a couple of minutes. I love all my friends so much.
  2. Had a nice lunch at "Pierre Victorie Bistrot." I had my usual steak-frites with poivre sauce(well done) and a goat cheese and bacon omellete for starter. and a coke for drink and bread with butter(complimentary). the goat cheese and bacon omellete was so so good....and I do not even like bacon!
  3. Finished my portion for my panel presentation(along with 5 others) tomorrow for Christianiaty in Culture! all that I have left to do for this semester to be offical done: one 500 word response on my service hours, 1 final exam, and one 5 page reflection due may 16(I think)on my study abroad experience. and then...scotland for 3 1/2 weeks and then...Nottingham for World Wide Witness! cannot wait!!!
  4. Had a good shower this morning...it was such a nice temperature, warm with a little sting in it, just the way I like it! :)
  5. Got a reply from Friends International in Edinburgh about a cafe for international students. kind of like globe cafe in St. Andrew's church in Oxford. it is mondays from 8-10pm. they even have a discussion about a major life question and what the bible tells us about it. it is an optional part of the cafe, but I think it is so cool. I am going to go.
  6. found that edinburgh has a museum of childhood. I send an application to volunteer there, but I problaly wont get it because of the background check that would take awhile. still, it is cool and I will go. I think Edinburgh is going to be a cool city. I am looking forward to it.

April 26,2009 Gifts

  1. Got my INTS 240.S1 final paper on "who is your neighbor" finished!!! it is not good at all, but it is finished!!!
  2. watched the movie "Sabrina"(the version with Harrison ford in it). not as good as the play, sadly. actually, the movie was a little creepy in the sense that the guy she ends up with is at least 15 years older than she is.
  3. booked tickets to go see the Lion King again, hey, I am going to London anyway for my rescheduled St.Paul's and Tower of London Tour, and also, I REALLY loved it!! I want to go see it again so badly. since I know the train situation this time, I can 100% relax and enjoy it. guys, seriously, it is out of the world...words dont do it justice. actually, I can show you! the following is a youtube clip from the 2008 tony awards. it was the 10th anniversary of the lion king musical and the way they commorated that was that the opener of the show was the performance of the musical's opening scene(circle of life). the show itself is amazing but this will give you a small taste: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yPAo389cQ4U
  4. I had a really good dinner at the restaurant nearby(chez gaston).
  5. during our 9@9, we did communion by someone the bread and "wine" to someone and prayed for them and then they would take it to someone else...needless to say it was nerveracking for me, especially since i had never prayed for someone else with them(you know what I mean?). anyway, I did and it was so good for me to do that. I did the hardest step(or was kinda forced to): the first step. so now, I might be able to do it again. might...maybe....still, a good thing for me.

Today's Gifts

  1. We went to Warwick Castle today, and I saw their "Flight of the Eagles" show. it was so cool...this guy who take these three types of eagles and, one at a time, let them fly around and then come back. each eagle had about 10 minutes, except for one got distracted when he caught a pray. anyway, it was so neat seeing those eagles flying. one almost clipped me it flew so low to the crowd, and one of the eagles was a bald eagle. took coming to England to see them emblem of the USA but hey! that's life. :)
  2. I saw a gorgeous view from the top of the mound at Warwick Castle
  3. I saw flower petals blowing off the trees and into the wind to land on the street...beautiful sight!
  4. Had a good lunch in Conventry: Subway(ham and cheese sub with mayo, toasted).
  5. bought some souverniers at Warwick, including two of these "plagues"(like the kind you hang in a house on the wall) that have inspirational sayings on them. so cool!

Location: Coventry and Warwick Castle day trip with group, and Oxford of course

My Daily Gifts Today

  1. I had a cute guy as my waiter at the french bistro I went to for lunch today. I was nervous but he was so cute! He looked like the guy who sings "Je suis en Vie." he had brown eyes and hair and was tall...it did make me nervous, but it was a good nervous(?) if there such a thing.
  2. Mailed all the souveniers I have bought this semester to my parents so they can hold on to them until I get back to Texas. it cost $123, but I think it was worth it. cuts down on my luggage weight and I dont have to worry about them this summer.
  3. loved the flower petals that fall on the street and the sidewalks...england is so so beautiful!
  4. I feel relived that Brent turned me down. it is so relieving to not have to worry about that, or worry that my actions will "give me away." I can be totally honest now; I can say and do things and not worry that they will "make him guess." plus, now there is nothing in my way to hold me back or keep me from doing what I want.
  5. I had an awesome chocolate fudge cake with cream for dessert at the restaurant where I went to have dinner tonight. it was so so good!
