June 30, 2009 Gifts From God

1. I was reading during lunch in stapleford(Coffee N Cream) and it was the Da Vinci Code, and this man was leaving and saw me reading it and talked to me about it for a few minutes. it was good.
2. Me and Curtis hung out a friend's house this afternoon. it was a lot of fun! they might be a little too into transformers, but hey, no one is perfect! lol jk.
3. laughed a lot today.
4. I was jokingly teased today, which is such a good sign of friendship and ease, so that is exciting.
5. lots of walking today! tiring, but good for losing weight! :)

1. Had lunch at my fav pub in long eaton city centre. it is such a nice pub and the food is good!
2. had my hair done today in stapleford: shampoo and straighten. i love getting my hair done! the shampoo part is therepatic almost like they are scrubbing all my troubles away! and i love my hair straight.
3. as they were blow drying today, i looked in the mirror in the salon, and thought i looked pretty. i love moments like that.
4. me and curtis cooked the dinner tonight for the monday night bible study. we cooked spaguetti with tomatoe sauce(meat in it-ground beef, which i leaned to cook tonight. from a guy, but that is still cook :) lol ) and bread with butter. it was a lot of fun and i think people enjoyed it a lot! it was so much fun!
5. I laughed a lot today.
6. I am so excited because I am getting to the point where I can joke with some of the friends I've made here and be teased(in a friendly jokingly way)! :)

1. I went to church today. I love going to church! it just gives me this...energy, revitilizes me for the week I suppose. I am finding that the more I get to know people outside of church, the more I enjoy church services. funny how that works huh?
2. I had such a good lunch today! ham with sweet awesome gravy and baked potatoes and yorshire pudding and peas and chocolate cake with whipped cream for dessert. so good! it was at this lodge place, and it was so good! there was a few of us there, so it was good to be around people and talk to them.
3. at the 5pm service/meeting at the church, curtis was leading the singing and he chose the songs that we sing at southern hills all the time, and it made my cry, especially during "we shall assemble" i had to hold the tears back. it was good though. made me think of southern hills and my friends and that i am going back to something as well as leaving something you know?
4. we went to mcdonalds drive through and then went to eat it at this nature reserve nearby. it was a lot of fun!
5. we went to one of the member's house afterwards and it was so nice to just sit outside(older people=inside, younger people=outside) and talk and get to know everyone even better in a relaxed social setting you know? it was a lot of fun and a lot of laughter was involved.
6. i was jokingly accused of having a crush on someone. for some reason, it really made me...happy. dont know why but happy is good.

1. I went to see a beautiful castle today in lincoln(city about an hour or so from nottingham).
2. Had a good lunch of lincolnshire sausages,mash, and whiskey gravy! so so sweet and delicious!
3. The drive to lincoln was about an hour or so long, and it was great! I love long rides!
4. I was actually into club today...I am not very good at soscializing with people,but I think I am getting better :)
5. one of the girls from club made this comment on facebook regarding my status yesterday about getting hit twice in the head by a paper ball, and she asked if it was david, and i said yeah, and she wrote that we would make a great couple! lol...dont know if she was serious, problaly not, however, still nice to know that I have made enough progress in being normal that i can generate jokes like that :) :)

1. Went into Nottingham today and the bus ride there alone was fun! i took the long route, rainbow 18, and it was fun listening to my music. i love long rides because of that.
2. I went to the pizza hut by the council house in city centre(did not get lost!!) and it was such a good meal. it was a good time
3. I visited Nottingham Castle. I only went on the grounds not into the castle itself but it was so beautiful! if God's creation is this beautiful, then how beautiful is he?
4. played UNO at club tonight! it was so much fun. I love UNO. reminded me of when I played it at southern hills, during one of the wednesday university coffee cafe(cannot remember the name of it, but it is like a get together twice a month after wednesday service). so much fun! love that game!
5. my rent at UP for sept-april will be $435 and may, june, july will be $465. that is such good news! i thought it would be $493!
6. it was a beautiful day today.
7. i laughed today, did not cry, and loved myself today.

1. went to see angels and demons tonight and used the 2 for 1 orange wednesday offer since my mobile is orange! lol.foun
2. d out that "oh dear" is a english expression that means "oh well", no biggies, let's move on
3. heard a good song by a group called "take that" on the radio on the way home
4. had lunch at my regular pub in long eaton city centre

7. put my hair in two braids. i looked younger than usual!

1. laughed a lot today! i love laughing, but it is awkward sometimes when i get going and cannot stop.
2. got my hair done today. as girly as it sounds, it feels so good and gives me confidence. plus, to quote "timmy" from nickelodion channel, it is like they are scrubbing all my troubles away!
3. got my nails done. need to get the nail extensions though
4. started looking into tickets for wimbleton.
5. played games :)

1. I did some laundry today...so excited! I liked the experience of hanging the clothes out to dry. it felt more like doing my laundry than machine drying and it reminded me of simplicty and of Dominican Republic as well.
2. I am getting to post in this blog! I am still writing my 5 good things entries per day, so have no fear. since i am using my host family's internet, i find it easier to write my 5 good things per day in my journal. at the end of the summer, i will do the hard task of copying it into this blog.
3. I had some good lunch/dinner at this pub in long eaton city centre, and i had chicken tiksa malsada, and it was a tad spicy but so so so good! :)
4. saw a beautiful sunset today. so yellow and golden.
5. went to a bible study today. did not speak but it was so interesting hearing others speak and their views on things.

1. This was my last day in Scotland and I was truly excited about it! I didnt hate Scotland, but it did feel like I was just here killing time you know? plus, I was by myself. and I just want to go back to England, start my internship....Scotland was good and I liked my time here, but...I am so glad it is time to go back to England!
2. I saw Angels and Demons again today. awesome movie! still gets me teary at the end of it. oddly enough, the last scene always gets to me. I think I might be starting to get why the Pope is so important.
3. I had a good lunch today at Bella Italia. I am going to miss Ciabatta, and that oil dipping thing for the bread....and Nutella. yum!
4. It was warm today!!!!!!!!!all day!!!!!the weather did not really change today!!!!!!
5. I had a coke in a bar. not a bar bar, but a....formal bar let's say.
